Arriving by car

Although the distance from Vienna is a bit longer (approximately 3 or 4 km.) we generally advise guests coming from this direction to exit the motorway at the exit „Flughafen“, as it is much easier to find us from this point. Those guests coming from either the south or west must exit the motorway at the exit „West“.

From the motorway A1 (from Vienna / Linz) exit the motorway at the exit (Ausfahrt) „Flughafen“ and, after going through the underpass, turn left at the first large intersection onto the „Innsbrucker Bundesstrasse“.

From the motorway A1 or A10 (from Munich / Villach) exit the motorway at the exit (Ausfahrt) „West“, which enters directly onto the „Innsbrucker Bundesstrasse“ going towards the airport (Flughafen).

After passing the airport, follow the signs for the city centre (Zentrum). At the first large intersection, turn right onto the „Maxglaner Hauptstrasse“. This later becomes the „Neutorstrasse“.
Continue until you see a small mountain, the „Mönchsberg“ directly in front of you (driving time from the airport to this point: approx. 10 minutes, depending on traffic). Drive through the tunnel (the „Sigmundstor“ or „Neutor“) going through the Mönchsberg (after exiting the tunnel, you will see the back entrance of the Goldener Hirsch directly in front of you). Drive straight through the intersection and park in front of the hotel’s restaurant. Our valet will take care of your car and luggage, if you would like to take advantage of our Parking Service.

On a regularly basis, trains run from and to Vienna, Munich, Zurich, and Innsbruck. Furthermore there are several trains existing which are heading south through the Alps into Italy.
